A Chain Reaction of Kindness

By Lucy Krug and Elaina Grimaldi

How do you inspire a chain reaction of kindness in your community? At Henderson High School during the week of February 11th through the 14th, students in the Kindness Club will be hosting activities to inspire a positive atmosphere for the second year in a row. Led by Ms. Knott, Mrs. Vandergast, and Mrs. Jakubowski, this club is continuing Rachel’s Challenge to spread kindness and respect for each other. Caring communities can change lives and spread hope. Next week, activities include: bingo, compliment cards, sticky-notes, music, candy, quotes, thank you cards and pajamas. The bingo cards will have random acts of kindness in each square, and students will be able to fill them in throughout the week. Each grade will receive a different color bingo card; and at the end of the week, the Kindness Club will determine which grade completed the most bingo cards in the Competition for Kindness. Also, on Thursday, February 14th, the Kindness Club asks students to donate canned goods for the West Chester Food Pantry.

One of the advisors, Ms. Knott, exclaims, “We are ready to spark the chain reaction!”

How will you contribute kindness in the chain reaction this week?
