Chamber Choir Sings at 2nd Annual Constitution Day in West Chester
On September 17th, 2018, the Henderson High School Chamber Choir walked into downtown West Chester to the old courthouse where they performed, “The Star Spangled Banner” and “America the Beautiful,” for the second annual celebration of Constitution Day in West Chester.
Attending and speaking at this event were the Executive Director of the Chester County Intermediate Unit, Dr. Joseph O’Brien, Pennsylvania State Senator Andy Dinniman, former Pennsylvania State House Representative Carolyn Comitta, former Mayor of West Chester, and a 312-year-old Benjamin Franklin. Students from Saint Agnes were also present at this celebration of the U.S. Constitution, introducing a new way of bringing awareness to our government and the importance of voting.
To conclude this Constitution Day remembrance ceremony, attendees signed an enlarged copy of the Preamble in Sharpie marker to symbolize their support of the Constitution and their promise to be a good citizen.
